I think there a lot more popular for the larger engine'd Audis such as the 3.0tdi and RS models esp those with limiters, and Porsches BMWs. Doubt anyone here's used them

What you wanting? A basic map for S3? Then give Ben a shout at shark performance. 320bhp - 330ft-lb for £449.

thats pretty expensive for a map from a minnow tuner..my celtic remap was £300, and before that angel tuning £325.
Both are pretty well established although not as big as Revo etc

All S3 maps are expensive, and you have to start somewhere I've been in a SP S3 and a Revo S3 and I'd have SP adl. Celtic/angel? Who r they?

I have read/heard lots of things about DMS when I had the 335d and attended many track events etc, they have a reputation for being extremely expensive and a little optimistic on power claims, personally I would be looking at either GIAC or Revo. I dont have anything bad to say about Shark performance, he has generic maps written for him by a guy with a good reputation and his pricing is attractive as is his level of service.

Also worth considering a company called Evolve who are a growing concern with an excellent reputation and an accurate Dyno.

Trying to remain impartial but i have tried the majority of offerings so If you plan to do things in stages then its Revo or GIAC who are the firm favourites for a reason.

I have heard of optimistic figures being quoted against what is seen on the rollers, and that these maps are very expensive as they have attached themselves to premium brands and want to price so as to be seen to be premium in the market.

I am more inclined to use tuners who are established, who have had significant involvement in motorsport tuning activity, and will be in business in the foreseeable future in case I need customer support.
