In our garden the previous owner had 4 garden lights, this one is ******. Any ideas how to get the bottom part of the lamp out it is the screw bit.

Get a pair of pliers on it with a good grip to get it out.

I did try that but it twisted / bent the top of it, I might try soaking it with WD40 first.
 
The wd40 should do the job, let it soak for a while and then try,hopefully that should get it off.

This. Liberal squirt of the WD40 and leave. Squirt more and leave. Repeat.

You'll need to leave it enough time to soak in and breakdown the corrosive bond between the metals.

Then a good grip and turn.
