display showing door open..

Hi. We have a 2000MY A4 Avant 1.9 Tdi. sometimes when we get in and close the door (as normal!) the display shows that the drivers door is still open, and the interior light is on. If we open and close the door a few times it sorts it's self out.
It only does it every now and again.
Does any one know what the problem might be?

Theres a microswitch in the door catch, these go faulty through time and start playing up,

Mine did it for a while and sorted itself out and had no trouble with it since,

When locking the car i had to make sure the led in the drivers door started flashing or the indicators flashed, that way i knew the alarm was on and the drivers door switch saw it as closed

The only fix i know of is a new door catch or leave it for a while and see if it sorts itself.
