DIS Info help needed

I am hopefully going to fit the wiper stalks with the buttons at the weekend.
Just wanted to check first as I don't have vag com to code it so if I fit it would it still work the wipers until I can find someone to code it for me or does it need to be coded to get all the functions to work??

You'll have all the same functionality less the DIS button on the end.

Ok, got the steering wheel surround off just wondered how the wiper stalk is removed as I don't want to break it!
I can see some clips is this what holds it in place or is it screwed in somewhere?
Do you have to take the steering wheel off?
Hopefully im not sounding to stupid!!

You need to remove the wheel and the slip ring behind. You then will see the screws holding the stalks in place.

Thanks for the links I didnt really want to take the steering wheel off as its a bit obvious to my mrs with what im up to!

Anyone know if there is a guide to convert the single dinn head unit to a double dinn headunit anywhere?
