dis button do nothing

hello, I have the wiper stalk with reset button and rocker switch on the end and also have the full black screen that reads miles to empty and the orange bit at the top of it that tells me about bulbs and stuff, problem is the buttons do nothing can anyone point me in the right direction to sorting it out? thanks

try holding the bottom button in for a good while with the ignition switched on, my display dissapeared for a while during the (hot weather) lol

No good, tried holding reset still noting happens
