Never one to pass by an opportunity for drama ,

While checking and topping the oil up, on the third level check, was presented with the unfathomable quandary of NOT being able to put the Dip-stick back in to the engine ..

No worries, problem identified , the yellow plastic tube had parted from the engine block .moved out of place .. temporary bodge with heater hose sleeve , and a nice new yellow pipe in the post later ,

luckily had a torx screwdriver to remove the plastic bit and metal bridge , fished the old bits out , slid new in, back on the road..

Moral of the story , be careful where you are , when you tug at your dip-stick ....

Very common occurrence. They are fine when new but after years of temperature cycling and exposure to oil it goes brittle.
