Vie been reading Leon's post titled 'Creaking Suspension' I also have this issue (although only in reverse /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif), but more worryingly I get a strange squeaking noise as well.
This only occurs when going over speed humps at an average speed, and also when driving though imperfections in the road i.e pot holes and small bumps.
I've had a mate hang out the passenger window and he can hear it from the near side front wheel as can I from the offside front, you cant hear it when the windows are shut though.
Imp on the verge of taking it to a dealer, but wanted to ask if anyone else had experienced this also.
