Hello all.
I'm new here been reading this and other various VAG forums for ages now. Recently decided to buy an A4 sport 130 PD engine.
My question seems simple but I'm absolutely stuck.
I used to also own a Golf PD 130 and I have noticed that my new A4 is more to tax and also makes higher co2 emissions. Sorry but I assumed that all the 130 PD were identical across the VAG range?
Anyone know what's gone on here?
Many thanks.

The more weight the more emissions and yes A4 is a heavy car.

Engines are identical.

Also what year was the golf and what year is the Audi, they keep changing the emission target settings to rape us more, my laguna 2 1.9dci is cheaper tax than my A4 1.8t cabby yet the cabby has lower emissions ,because the laguna is older and around 2003/ 2004 emission settings were different , now cars are far more emission friendly so they move the goal posts, democracy is a wonderful thing.

Ok thanks for clearing that up for me.
Just some quick googling and I noticed a mark 4 golf estate PD 130 weighs around 1500kg and the A4 1450kg so lol?
Ps the Audi is a 2003 and the golf was a 2004.
Pps the estate is the same tax band and coupe.

mk4 golf variant =1,160 kg (2,557 lb)
Audi a4 saloon =, 1405 kg (3097 lb)

Substantially heavier. Both 130 pd,s can't check more accurately without you posting exact models.
