June Special Edition of Auto Express has an interesting Article on Page 7.

Within the Article, there's a bit about their Driver Power Dealer Survey.
Out of 32, Audi came 26.

Ford came 27th.

Mmmm.. That may be more about the expectations of the customers?

I think you are 100% on the money there.
For most of us common / ignorant Motorists, the word Audi is coupled with Quality.
Unfortunately, our own expectations are then sorely let down when we realise that they are actually EXACTLY the same as Mainstream Dealers. In some cases worse.

Then we realise that the statement that you are "paying for the four plastic rings on the front" is actually a reality.

Fool me once......etc.

Please rephrase and DONT talk for ALL of US.

We each have our own experiences some good and some bad, thats life, but please don't talk for me. I am big enough, old enough and ugly enough to express my own views

BTW I have had a couple of not so good experiences with Audi dealerships but the vast majority have been very good to excellent in contrast my recent dealings with Ford were less than satisfactory.

I've always found Audi pretty good in comparison to similar marques. Most only improve once you have moaned to the sales director. Had a nightmare with Jaguar to start with, had a whinge, and they ended up being amazing.

I take most polls/surveys with a pinch of salt. Most folk tend to fill in reviews after a bad experience, not a good one, as they think it's how it should be.

I'm guessing that a significant sample was taken to come to the conclusions made. Without looking at the data it's impossible to make any comment about it's accuracy.

We can only comment on our own experiences.

Actually that may not be so. Most folks don't complete surveys. And the ones who do are usually/often negative, for the reasons given by S3inSE21.

Out of my experiences I found BMW dealer and service and warranty to be the best.

If I didn't like A3s so much I wouldn't have bothered, bad service, customer service and they (two dealers I went to) argue over warranty issues that are obvious.

That being said the S3 experience nearly went downhill over some option changes but all went well in the end.

Its not hard to listen to a customer and see if hes chatting crap instead they either conclude prematurely or simply dont care.

I haven't had to use Audi service yet. I have BMW's - service good. I did have an Audi A6 about 20 years ago - that was OK service as far as I can remember. Had a Peugeot a few years ago - that service was diabolical.
My last car was a Toyota and their service was excellent.
But, I'm sure it varies from dealer to dealer, no matter what the marque.

So true Richard.

Some people's expectations are beyond ludicrous which is why I never trust survey's and to be honest a lot of review sites too.

I've also found Toyota's service to be excellent. Well priced servicing and excellent, down to earth staff.

So far my local Audi dealer has been superb. Dealt with 2 or 3 salesmen, all have been extremely helpful and friendly. My spec changes were dealt with incredibly quickly, particularly the last one which was right on the wire timewise, the new spec was updated overnight onto youraudi! I guess the proof of the pudding is how they treat you when things go wrong.........but based on the experience so far I don't have any particular concerns.

I can't fault the service at Hereford Audi, even though I've had issues with my S3. I've dealt with over a dozen ppl there over the years and they have all been first class.

And no I don't work for Audi!

Audi Macclesfield seem excellent. A very busy dealership who always seem to go out of their way to help. Not quite in the Lexus league, but who is?

I've used Huntingdon Audi for all nine of my A3s. I bought the first one in 1998 and have bought all the others from the same sales guy. He is now their Specialist Sales Manager but is still happy to deal with those customers he has known for some time. All the cars have been serviced there as well and I have always been happy with the way I've been treated and the work that has been done.

My wife also has an A1 which was purchased through the say chap.

Good News.

2016 Driver Power Dealer Survey out now for completion - if you want to.

I agree with the perceptions comment. If you spend £16k on a Skoda (equivalent Audi model £24k, for example) then you're going to get a car that far exceeds your expectations. Whereas the typical Audi buyer will be expecting Bentley levels of quality and service so inevitably will be disappointed and mark them down. The survey should ask would you rather own an A3 or an Octavia if they both cost £1 to buy. I doubt there would be many takers for the Skoda then.
