I recently had my A4 Quattro serviced by my local Audi dealer, they mentioned that the two rear diff seals were leaking in the report that I received so I decided to have a local garage take a look to give me their opinion on the seriousness of this reported item. I was shocked to hear from the local garage that although the Audi dealer mentioned the leaking rear diff seals, they did not check the diff oil level - we know this because the local garage pointed out the corrosion around the diff plug showing that it's not been opened recently. The local garage also noticed that one of the brackets for the exhaust was missing, this was not reported by the Audi dealer - I have been informed by the local garage that a missing exhaust bracket is a MOT failure! My question to this esteemed forum is this... Is the reporting of a missing exhaust bracket and checking of the diff oil level part of the Audi service? I would like to know before I go in with all guns blazing. TIA!
