Finally got round to being brave enough to remove the grill surround, which came out surprisingly easily lol. Gave it a quick rub down, and prepped it for painting. Gave it plenty of coats of halfords matt black and a couple of lacquer, using hot air gun in between coats to speed things up a bit. Left overnight to harden properly and fitted first thing this morning. I think the results speak for themselves. It matches in perfectly with the rest of the grill.
