Has anyone used day insurance before and who did you find was cheapest? Getting sick of filling these bloody forms in to be told they dont insure a golf gti for some stupid reason or i have to be over 25, im 23. Is that a problem? or am i best of sticking my dad on it? Its only to go and pick up a new car, cheers

You can have many policies, but you cannot insure a car that already has insurance on it.

Suspect it's your age that's the problem. I used to pay about £20.

If you already have a policy, can you not just ring them and say that you are picking a car up and need cover for a day, they will provide the cover for you as temp additional vehicle.

I have done this previously, I was covered on my car and then borrowed a friends car for the weekend for my bro's wedding, just called my insurance, they charged me about £40 for the weekend.
