I washed the front of the Astra to make it look a little cleaner and happier for the photos LOL!!

Would I be right in thinking that the Astra has been bumped at the front? Just looking at the picture, the front bumper looks down slight outta line.. maybe Goliath "stuck the nut" (No, not Sharon Davies's Walnut!!) in "Him" when you weren't looking??

Nope you're not seeing any bumps, but the bumper HAS been on and off a few times to measure up/be modified to accept the EDS FMIC,..........aswell as have brand new wings and bonnet etc.......

The Audi, but second gear onwards the Astra is SO much faster.

It's getting on for the magic 300bhp per ton, and the Audi errrm.........isn't.

It showed 280bhp on Jamsport's rollers this year, and 256bhp at the wheels.

Then bear in mind it weighs in at less than a thousand KG.............

Then badge it up as this (the white stickers were just temporary for the show).................

And it makes for a rapid comedy car

The driver's seat in that picture is a completely different seat.

It's part of a very rare set of Recaro seats and door cards I've accumulated/hunted for all over Britain, that were from a GTE 'Champion' limited edition.

Same huge side bolsters as in Cosworths etc, fishnet headrests, 'Connolly' stamped into the upper section, and adjustable seat-squabs.

I have the rears and cards all in leather, along with a black dash, all black trim, and a brand new black carpet (and sound felt) to go in.

I stripped the hearing-aid beige interior out when the body got rebuilt, and have left it stripped for when I did Santa Pod etc.

If I keep the car, all the new interior will be going back in.

On the look out for another new band BTW

Yep, bit of a tradition over the years with my cars

This was running around 170bhp, but was badged up as a 1.4i...............

About ten years ago my mate had a Skoda rapide with a Golf MK2 16V lump in it, that shocked a few of the hot hatch brigade. Their faces as you fly past in a rusty old snotter, priceless!
