Hi guys and girls, have been on here quite a while now and made some good friends. Some of you may also know me through my cruise fitting.

As standard, my car is a 2006 "56" 2.0TDI Sportback 170 Sport. Being a Audi showroom/demo car it came with quite a lot of spec as standard:-

    Auto lights/wipers
    CH/LH Lights
    Half Leather alcantra seats
    S-line aluminium trim
    Bose Sound system
Factory fitted bluetooth and phone prep
    Heated Seats
    Full Interior Light pack
    MFSW
    Digital Speedo
    Reverse parking sensors
    Upgraded 17" Ronal Alloys
S-line exhaust tips (think these came as standard on all 170's) Waiting to get the votex exhaust tips to finish of kit, so these will go for sale once taken off if anyone interested!!

    My Retrofits:-

    2010 RNS-e
    Cruise Control
    S3 Pedals
    Pentagon tints
    MY09 LED Lights

I was thinking about the s-line conversion, but just could not bring my self to paying all that money for new bumpers, fog lights etc etc, so decided to go for the full Votex as it would still keep the car OEM and hold it's value if I ever decide to sell.
And the best part was i managed to source all the Votex parts brand new, and had them sprayed and fitted for £500 ALL IN!! Not bad I thought.

Anyhow, enough of me talking, here are some photos I took today quickly just to show you the car with the Votex kit on, enjoy!!
Sorry I didn't take any of the interior but will do as soon as I get a mo.

Thanks guys, and remember, if anyone is interested in my s-line tail pipe trims when removed, let me know.

Danny, loving the Votex body kit mate. Makes a big difference to it, a big addition to the high spec. Looks almost like my S-line Lava Grey 170 :p

Too late now if I don't! Lol
I browsed around the net for some decent pictures of it fitted to A3's and was a bit concerned that I may not like it, but now it is on, I absolute love it!
Although the s-line is beautiful, I like to think mine is less common. Not knocking the s-line, because if I had the spare cash, I would have done the conversion, but for a mokey, i can't really complain.
To answer your question N8, YES, I LOVE IT! Happy days.

Why, the sounds of it, your not too keen? That's cool fella, as everyone has their opinion.

    Thanks Wez,

I got the skirts from some place in Norwich, they had them on eBay so I called and offered 80 quid cash and he accepted. They told me they had a few left and wanted to clear! I can find out the number for you mate if you wanna give them a shout?
They were brand new genuine audi votex parts still sealed in the box. Bargain I thought as the stealers want something like 200-300!

3dr skirts are difficult to find, you can still get 5dr from Audi.

Wez, as Paddy said. All votex parts for the three door are very hard to come by. The people I got my skirts from only had the sportback ones.
    Sorry pal.

    Cheers FranA3

May think about lowering it only if I go with 18's though. I like the BBS speedline splits!
Now it is coming into winter, I am happy to leave my 17" ronals on, I think they look pretty good with the kit IMHO. I also like the fact that these wheels were a showroom upgrade so they are not that common out on the road.

Looks good, I have the vortex side skirts fitted, makes such a difference to the stance of the car, looks wider and more hunkered down. The price you paid was a bargain mate.

Cheers mate, deffo makes a difference.

Here's a breakdown for what i paid for the parts, with the part numbers incase anyone wanted to know.
These are only fot the Sportback!

    Front spoiler (8P9 071 609 9AX) £125
    Side Skirts (8P9 071 685 9AX) £80
    Rear valance/diffuser (8P9 071 610 9AX) £25
    Rear Roof Spoiler (8P9 071 640 9AX) £80
    Spary & Fitting £200

    Total cost £510

Today i just recieved my exhaust tips (8P9 071 911) to go with votex kit and make it complete, another £80. (Should have been £140) Getting it fitted on Saturday.

So all in now was £590!! Still a great price, as Audi originally wanted nearly £1800 and that was without the upgraded exhaust tips!!

Thanks again all for your kind words.

    UPDATE!!!

Hi all thought i would add a few more pictures.

I have have now slapped on some Genuine 18" BBS Speedlines Splits with Falkens F452'S as recommended by a few of you. Can say, so far am not dissapointed with the tyre performance.

Also added the Votex tailpipe trims to finish of the full Votex body kit, as the old s-line pipes sat to far back.
Also took a quick snap of the inside.

Before anyone asks, then yeah I probably will be lowering with Eibach Pro-kit. Being Sport susension already, this will drop it another 15mm (although I think it looks ok the way it is for now) Don't want to go too low as a quite often I have a full load in the car!!!

Hope you all like what I have done.

If you are lowering for looks then I reckon you'll be disappointed with Eibach Pros. You'll be hard pushed to notice any drop at all.
Compare your car to an s-line's height and if you can't see any difference then you're not going to see much difference on pros cos they're roughly the same as s-line.

Cheers for the heads up Ads. As my sport are 15mm lower than standard as yours were, then i was told by a few places and read up that the pros being a 30mm drop will overall be a 15mm drop on my sports. I had a quick measure up from edge of arch to tyre and and took 15mm down and i don;t think it will look too bad.
I know you have sportline eibach and although looks good, think that is too low for me as quite often I have the missus, a baby and two kids in the car.
Have had my car up against an s-line and it does sit a little bit higher, so would be happy with s-line height. I believe that the s-line sits 25mm lower than standard.

I disagree, I have eibach pro's on 2 cars, ride height is perfect & the ride itself has improved allot, but this may be due to the addition of FSD's on both cars, but nonetheless the ride height is great with these springs & for the price, cant ask for better if you're not an arse dragger.

    Cheers for the info Nige.

Think it will definatley lower the car from the sport height, even if it is by only an extra 15mm. Being a family man, I still need to keep the height reasonable, but at the same time give it that slightly better stance now I have got the 18's on.

AmD essex are doing fit and supply at the moment with a four wheel laser allignment for 300. So think i will book it in to them very soon.

You're welcome, it definitely removed the bouncy castle sport suspension feeling & both ours were sport, it will be a difference & noticable mate even with standard shocks & I hear you on family front, cant drag your asse with family in tow.

I'm pretty much the same mate.. My missus and kid are in the car with me mostly and mine is fine on sportlines. I live in london too and have no problems with the lowness. Guess its just down to what you want the car to look like.
Having done LOOOAADDSS of research and looking at photos and actual A3s at various heights the pros just didn't seem worth getting to me. Sport suspension rides pretty well anyway so I didn't really need a more comfy ride, so for me it was about the look and handling.

Really just depends what look you want. If you want your car to look "lowered" then the pros just aren't going to achieve that at all. But for a nice ride and height that doesn't look high or lowered then i agree that the pros are perfect.
But for me, when people say they want to lower their car its usually because they want the car to have a bit (or a lot) of a dropped look. The pros just don't that.

1st point, cant agree, sport suspension sucks, with 2 A3 sports in family, its like being a kid in a blown up castle.

2nd point I do agree with, its not a dropped look, but its a superb upgrade for nice ride height with better handling & comfort IMHO.

Moral of this story: If you want your car to be really comfortable and not look "lowered" then go for the pro-kit. If you want your car to be quite comfortable and look "lowered" then go for the sportlines. Or go for coilovers for a bit less comfort again, but choose the height yourself. AMD supply and fit AP coilovers for about £600. They ride pretty well, by all accounts.
