Without meaning to sound like DJ Dave Pee-Arse from Radio 1, here is my list of all time classics that I've just put together as an MP3 playlist.

I was the original outdoor raver, complete with glowsticks and vicks smeared under the eyes...

    808 State - Pacific State
    Primal Scream - Come Together
    Ain't Nobody - Rufus & Chaka Khan
You Got The Love - Source ft. Candi Staton
    U R The Best Thing - D:Ream
    Anthem - N Joi
Don't You Want Me - Felix
    Promised Land - Joe Smooth
    Yeke Yeke - Mory Kante
    Papua New Guinea - F.S.O.L
    Go - Moby
    House Stompin - Bump
    Not Over Yet - Grace
    De Niro - Disco Evangelists
Another Sleepless Night - Shawn Christopher
For What You Dream Of - Bedrock
    Two Months Off - Underworld
    So Damn Beautiful - Polariod
    Air - Albion

    What would you add?

If we're talkin old school then Bring forth the guillotine by Silver Bullet is one of my all time faves but there are just so many from my raving days that it hurts my brain to pick the best!

Vicks under the eyes, i bet you used to wear one of those Vicks raver rub t shirts with a hat saying ' I'll have an e please Bob '.

My first proper do though was Fantasy FM christmas 91 at the Astoria, new yorkers and triple x's all the way!!!!!

    PMSL!

First legal rave for me was Fantazia at Matchams near Bournemouth in 1992 Slipmatt, Ellis Dee, Ratpack and Top Buzz. Red n Blacks, Disco Biscuits, 'Pink Champagne' and Purple Ohms. RAVE ON!!! :rockwoot:

BTW - I was mainly into tie dye at the time and had lank, greasy hair in a pony tail...

    Wasn't Silver Bullet a Hip-Hop track?

Hip hop/ dance, cracking tune, all time classic.

Were you into Spiral tribe and all that then??? I was a proper raver til about 94 when it went too hard and i got into house music. Best days of my life though. Still do Ibiza and that but it gets tougher every year to recover.

My mate Becky used to go out with Slipmatt, been out for a beer with him a few times.

Blast from the past, saw Ratpack in Zante this summer. I was dancing with their stage dancer, me and my mate were showing the youngsters how to ave it early 90's style. Keith Flint eat your heart out!!!

    This one got me thinking!

I'd remove a few of the gay disco tunes (sorry), such as.....

    U R The Best Thing - D:Ream
Don't You Want Me - Felix

    ...... and add:

    Chicane - Offshore 97
    Sash - Stay
Alison Limerick - Where the love lives
Robin S - Show me love
    K-Klass - Rythmn is a Mystery
Layo & Bushwacka - Love Story
Armand Van Helden - You Don't Know Me
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You
    Grace - Not over yet
    Basement Jaxx - Rendezvouz
    Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar '98
    Nalin & Kane - Beachball
    MJ Cole - Crazy Love
    Underworld - Born Slippy
    Faithless - Insomnia
Moloko - The time is now
    Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy

    IMO

I played their mix tape so much it broke. Classic MC'ing.

Off Ratpack, but on the same rave tip, can you remember the name of the tune that started with the words "Good morning Soddom and Gomorrah, good morning sinners". I was convinced it was called 'Jack Jebrolt'...would love to get my hands on a copy of it now.

I bought an old school classics collection by Dj Sy and Ellis Dee a few years back, it's well worth getting if you're into proper old rave. It's even got that Pennywise tune with the lyric from Pennywise the clown From Stephen Kings 'IT' film.

    Absolute classic.

    Anticapella, 2root231
    The Scientist, The exorcist
    Xenophobia, Rush in the House
    Humanoid, Stakker Humanoid
Silver Bullet, 20 Seconds to Comply (Terminator Stylee!)

Used to love the old 'Deep Heat' albums until about DH9, went all soft then! There's a couple of good internet radio sites that stream the old stuff. I'll see if I can root 'em out...

Woah guys I wouldn't have believed it if you'd told me - you sweaty f**kin ravers! ;)

You know the daftest thing; I still knock about with some of the old rave names - I've not seen (slip)matt or everson and mark (ratpack chaps) for a while now; but I'm sorting some new studio hardware out for Sy (who's an S4 driver) and Unknown in the new year; and if those are the type of names that are cropping-up I'm sure some of you rushed to DJ Force & Evolution too - I've got Forcey's laptop and one of the three Evolution boys' studio machine on the floor behind me at the moment... And for some more Audi related trivia - Forcey drives an A3 :) I'm regularly in touch with some of the other Rave chaps too; another one of them a former third of Evolution - Darren Styles - and fair play to him too; the last three cars he had before his current one were: A3, TT, A4 Cab; and now he's got a Porsche.

Anyway, leaving out the more recent stuff from the lists posted; I think a nice old-skool mixtape (*heh*) for the car would be:

You Got The Love - Source ft. Candi Staton
    Anthem - N Joi
    Papua New Guinea - F.S.O.L
    808 State, Pacific State
    LFO by LFO
Voodoo Ray by A guy called Gerald
    2 Bad Mice, Bombsacre
    Urban Shakedown, Some Justice
Praga Khan, Injected with a Poison
    Sweet Harmony - Liquid
Activ 8 (Come Go With Me) - Altern 8
Baby D - Let me be your fantasy
    Orbital - Chime

...There are loads more I'd post if I started browsing through my old records but if I do that I'll get nothing done tonight!

Suffice to say finding out there's a raver contingent lurking on the boards has cheered me up! Good work folks!

    Regards,

    Rob.

Nice bit of name dropping there Rob! :friends: They've made some quality tracks between them! What a coincidence the majority of them drive Audis  .

So do you throw some of your own tunes together then (just wondering with all the studio stuff)?
