DAB Retrofit Questions

Hi All,

I'm tempted to have a go at adding DAB to my car, it's always bugged me that it isn't there.

I was wondering how I work out what unit I need, is it a straight swap out for one of the units in the boot? Do I need to add aerials as well?

Details of my car:-

2010 A6 Avant Facelift
MMI 3G High (HDD and Joystick)

New radio module, dab aerial, fakra cable, wire to screen, coding and component protection removal. It's a simple install, except for the componet protection removal.

Thanks for that, can I just buy any 4F0035061D from eBay etc (providing I can get the CP removed)?

Do you know if this will give me DAB or DAB+? Also I was wondering will this give me the radio controlled clock, I do appreciate an accurate clock

Just DAB. No it will not give you radio clock.

Any ebay unit will work.

I think that there is an extra module that plugs into the back of the instrument cluster. I don't know if it works in the UK or not though.
I did wonder about doing this too as my clock gains quite a lot.

I added DAB to my car not long after I bought it. The hardest part was getting CP removed after my local Audi dealer refused to do it as I hadn't bought it from them or from TPS. The garage that did it for me had 3 attempts to get it right. Then B5Nut sorted out the coding for me.
