As above, it's happened a few times, I'm not sure where it's coming from, first of all the windscreen looks to be original, iv checked air con drain, only one left is scuttle drains, but I checked today after a heavy downpour and the scuttle wasn't full, I'm getting a wet front passenger footwell, it looks to be dripping off the underneath of the dash, first time round the fuse box was also wet on the passenger side, it's only happened after heavy rain and not when jet washing the car

The first time I noticed I got in the car early morning started off and had esp warning light on dash with abs as well iirc, didn't realise it was due to water till daylight and I looked into the pass footwell and seen the water, cleared faults and it'd dried out and everything went away.

I need to get it sussed as its not bad but it needs fixing, today it rained heavy checked scuttle as mentioned, looked fine, then I get in the car to go home later on and iv a small wet patch on the passenger mat

I had the same thing, was the scuttle drains blocked, doesn't help that my car is parked right next to huge overhanging shrubs in the driveway.

Had them unblocked at the same time as the MOT which was due, then when I got it home I pulled the passenger side carpet back and stuck a small dehumidifier in the floor, soon had it dried up.

I'd advise you pulling the carpet back as well as the floor is actually hollow under the carpet and houses many of the cars control modules! You do not want them flooded!

Thanks for the quick reply, iv recentishly had the carpet up whilst fitting the bluetooth and it was bone dry, I will peel it up though and double check, I'll give the drains a poke when I'm next over at my mates kwikfit

Hi there I have an Audi A8 D3 3.0 TDI Quattro on a 2005 plate. I'm sure you have resolved the problem with the ingress by clearing the drains running along the side of your car!? I wasn't as lucky I only realised the drain block problem was causing the ingress of water after the damage was done. A supposed audi approved key specialist had opened a sealed compartment which held my Kessy (access & control unit) to connect to it so he could code me a new key. He then didn't bother to seal the compartment for the Kessy so when my drains blocked and the water came into the passenger side rear footwell the water went into the compartment flooding it to the brim and totally killing my Kessy in the process. So now my car has been with a Audi 'specialist' who if I'm honest I would never have used had i not been so desperate. This guy is telling me I can't get another second user Kessy and get it programmed to my car when every other forum/audi mechanic I've talked to have told me of course it's possible and that there are company's on net who you can send your Kessy to who will programme it and send it back to you.
Whatever the case it's going to cost me around £1200-1500 as the cowboy sorry 'specialist' has pulled the car to bits despite me telling him in detail what the issue was & that the car was only owned by 1 other person so was not 'messed' with apart from the key guy. You are a much wiser person than me and extremely lucky you nipped your ingress in the bud!
Hope alls well with it now.
Thought I'd share my story as a cautionary tale to be aware of blocked drains they are a killer ;-(( A
