Cycle rack

Hi, I have a B7 S line avant and want to know if it is ok to fit a cycle rack to the tailgate.

I managed to get one to fit no problem. It was only a borrowed Halfords one that was fully adjustable. I used it until my Audi bars and thule prorack thing turned up for the roof.
