i need some advise. ive spotted today tham my cv boot is split but not all the way yet so i was thinking will i change only the rubber or the cv joint aswell. there is no clicking noise from the joint( 98 a4 fwd) thanx.

Remove old boot and clean the cv joint out to make sure there no gritt in it brake cleaner is what I use then re-grease the joint and fit new gator
No problem but make sure it's nice and clean before you grease it as any grit will cause the joint to wear faster.
