Right i have booked the car in for a custom remap , after speaking with several tuning companies i have been quoted gains of up to 55bhp and up to 80ft lbs torque , prices range from £260 up to £450 , my first choice would have been amd tecknik as i had my previous car done there but cost wise they are expensive and also quoted higher gains than any where else ? so just a few questions for you guys.

1. does fuel economy improve or is this a myth ?

2. what are the realistic gains ?

3. lastly has anyone else mapped the 2.0tfsi engine / if so whats it like etc

The fuel economy is not a myth. It perhaps won't go up as you'll be using the extra power for the first few months but you are effectively getting more power for less effort so technically MPG is better. It certainly shouldn't be worse

I'd expect around 50bhp more to be correct. The torque gain seems high but even if its 50lb/ft it will make a massive difference.

Custom remaps are good for smooth power and very similar power delivery to the standard map with obviously more kick as the turbo comes in. Revo maps tend to be more agressive with the turbo kick in.

Do it!
