Well today i had a few hours to kill so i went to Seat and bought a Cupra Splitter.
Got it home and jacked the front of the car up, Cut the lugs off the splitter and trimmed the centre lugs to fit to the shape of the bumper.
Offered it in place and taped it into position to see if it was all equal everywhere.
12 Self tapper screws later and i have this.......

Deepens the front end and finishes the bumper how it should of been done from the factory.....superb mod for £45 and 2 hours start to finish....(Including driving to the dealer)

Car is dirty as it hasnt been cleaned in a week and its going in tomorrow to get the Eibachs springs fitted.....

Looks great, made our b6 look a lot better from the front, can't wait to get on and fit one to the B7, what a great mod for little cash and time.

    Fantastic result. Two questions

Do the self-tappers come with it? If not, what size to buy from the local hardware store?

What did you use to trim the bits off?

No Self Tapers come with it mate......I used 1" ones out my van.....lol

To trim the lugs off i used a Dremel....but im sure a hacksaw will work fine too......

Make sure you have some strong tape to hold it in place while working out where you want it....

    Easy enough mod though buddy.

I'm 50/50 on this, because my front end is now rather low as it is and is frequently getting stuck on kerbs. :) however, my justification is that if I lower it some more it won't even be able to get on the kerbs to get stuck. (and I must stress, it's the wife who gets is stuck, I barely drive the thing)

It is easy to fit, but personally if I had an sline bumper I wouldn't fit one I don't think it needs it, mine is an sline but with an SE bumper which I think definitely needs it.

Well, I've just made an enquiry - a casual enquiry, you understand - at my local Seat dealer. They have one, it's £45.61 in. VAT, I'm working from home today, it's sunny and the dealer is half a mile away. What to do?

Perhaps I should start a poll.

A bit off topic, but can you please tell me what your paint code is as I'm going try to paint my wheels that colour to experiment.

What, do you mean the body paint colour? It's Quartz Grey, not sure of the code but you should be able to find it easy enough.

Heh-hey! Glad you like it. As with everything I do, it is a little bit bodged. It's probably a couple of mm further back than would be ideal, plus I cut too much of the central struts off, so they don't meet up with the underside of the bumper.

I managed to do this with a dremel :keule:but not as much as yours. Still touches the bumper but the surface isn't curved with the bumper so theres a slight gap here and there lol

I've still got the bits I cut off. What are the chances I can trim them to the correct size, and slide them into place?

Looks good guys! There's no wonder these splitters have gone up so much. I don't want to sound pedantic but its a Cupra R splitter not Cupra.
