Not for the faint hearted I'd say if you want to DIY fit.

You will need a spline set to take the steering wheel off and a Torq driver set that goes down as small as T8 as that is required to take the steering ecu off.

Luckily I didn't have to run the wire on mine as it was in the loom already but I did order the full kit including a newer steering ECU as the original was a B rev and acording to some you need C or above for cruise.

If you have the required tools including VAG-COM and you are happy taking airbags and steering wheels off you should be able to DIY.

I did have a problem with my steering assist and running the Steering Limit Adaption, though with some good help on the VAG-COM mailing list and a bit of trying a different approach that adapated in OK in the end.

I must also say a big thanks to the guys as Vagparts for an excellant service on the parts front.

Oh and I also treated myself to the Ambient and Map Light upgrade.

So next will be the Alu trim as I'd prefer that to the Piano Black bits.

Sounds good :) Cruise is one thing I would have liked on mine. Don't think I'd personally be able to retro-fit it myself though.

Nice one Paul! I had it done by one of the local Audi technicians as a private job, took him an hour while I watched the British GP qualifying, best £45 I ever spent! I needed the control module, but the bits weren't too expensive. I tend to use it going on the A140 every day following trucks up to Norwich, keeps the economy stable as well. Suits the DSG perfectly.

I find cruise good on the two sets of roadworks with speed cameras on the M1; much less of a gamble.

Where did you get the Ambuent & map lights from? How much and do you have the part number? Mine is black headliner?

Found one on audi accesorise, cheaper as well! I take it it will be a straight swap without to much effort from me?

How do you get the old one down?

The front section of the cover unclips and then there are two philips screws holding it main body in place.

You will need to swap a couple of alarm sensor modules between the lights (they unclip).

Already doing it, if you go over to the TT-forum and search for CC GB you will see details of previous i have run.

I am currently beating Ed @ APS for the best price. will need a minimum of 5 people for a Saturday.

I'm interested in a group buy in the south! Really fancy having cruise...how do I find out if I have a compatible Steering ECU? Do I have to take it apart? :)

VAG-COM scan will give you the part number of the steering ecu.
