Hello there i have been given a 1995 audi a4 2.6 . was sat about for a year but got it going and is in me garage . Was looking at may be airfield racing or track days as brands and snetterton are close . Am looking for advice on locating parts on the engine ? as no haynes books for it . Also and advice on replacing parts for proformance parts ? I live in essex and also wondered if there was a audi club around in the area ? someone must be able to help ????

theres not alot on the 2.6 to tune up
and cant help with locating parts in the engine as you havent said what parts
but ill take a guess.
the head is at the top.
the rad is at the front

ha ha ha found them to . was trying to look for fuel filter ? also the oil pressure switch ? no tune up parts ow well stock is still good .

There's some info here 12v Pages - The Engine - Features
Google will help you find anything you want to know specifically if you get stuck. Your engine code is ABC. The link is a yank site and I don't think they ever had the ABC 2.6 engine but most stuff is the same with the 12v's
Hope this helps

Nice one thanks for that yes site looks good and solves some of my prob stright away. Yes god bless google nice one thanks for the site

If you are tracking it you will need to bin the suspension and the brakes. I run AP coilovers on my A4 and they seem to work pretty well on track considering their low cost (sub £500). Brakes wise I would go for the 312mm conversion which is a simple carrier swap and some 312mm discs off a B6 mated to some good quality pads Ferrodo DS2500 or Mintex 1155 with fresh quality brake fluid. Also worth uprating the rear anti roll bar. If it hasn't been done replace all the front suspension arms with fresh O/E items as these can cause a multitude of issues.

All imho of course, but hope it helps

low cost sounds very good ha ha . yes been looking at brakes and how to up grade them . have you stripped your a4 out at all ??? was thinking that it may lighten it up a little nice one thanks for the advice

My A4 is my daily so gets used for my commute and work mileage so all creature comforts are present. My Escort is my proper track toy and doesn't even have a carpet lol.

Ha ha very cool. Where do you do your track days ?

I usually do mine at Bedford Autodrome as there is loads of run off for that moment you run out of talent. Have done some sessions at Silverstone over the years and am planning a trip to Snetterton and Brands Hatch, also looking at doing the Nurburgring with the missus in the new year.

It's really addictive

bet it is got the bug for it now have done some red letter track days and they were good but must feel a lot better in your own car . that will be a good few days then thats a very nice track lucky you my missus thinks im nuts ha ha . thanks for the advice mate just makes me want to crack on with it

There isnt a lot for the V6 as others have said, only decent power upgrades will be PES supercharger but theyre rare to find, and it will cost a bit when all added up with map etc.

I would concentrate on improving and sorting out any handling issues, a well set up car can out run more powerful cars if done right, so roll bar/s, decent suspension and look at worn components to be replaced.

I had a 2.4 v6 a4, it had 2 race?cats and 2 boxes removed, made an awesome sound. would leave my 204bhp 4motion Golf for dead. was meant to be 160 bhp i think, no idea what else had been done . one 70 in 2nd ,110 in third (on track)

Thanks foxmeister think your spot on there with that . As there seems to be good parts around to get the handling right. Nice the car sounds very quick . 110 in 3 very nice can only dream of that at the min. Have started stripping unneeded things out stated from the back and working forward .

Coilovers and a tight bend taken in 3rd at about 90.
