Could a fellow sportback owner help.

I noticed today that my storage compartment inder the Climate control unit (in front of the ash tray is springy?? Is this normal (ie a design feature to stop stuff rattling) or is mine broken.

Would appreciate it if someone else could check theirs.

The storage compartment has a kind of slightly rubberised lining to it to stop stuff rattling or sliding about as they would on hard plastic but it's not "springy" as such.

Thanks Vertigo - Looks like mine is broken- car's in to get a new fron shock on Monday, so must get it seen to under warranty. I got the ashtray cover (scratched) replaced before I picked the car up, so I assume they broke the base of the compartment when they where replacing that.
