corner weight question

    hi all,

    I scaled my s3 and the results are hereunder

    LF 464 423 RF
    LR 268 272 RR

    CROSS 691 48,42%

    LEFT 732 51,29%
    REAR 540 37,84%

    TOTAL 1427

    *all weights are in "kg"s.

    I have some questions;

    1) i learned that i have to disconnect the sway bars while weighing. will it effect the results dramatically? should i repeat the weighing with the sway bars disconnected?
    2) are the weight differences too much to align from coil overs?

    i will really appreciate if you can give me some advise :)

    You should disconnect the Sway bars yes. It can have a big impact. You will be able to level that out via coilovers, however, it depends how level you want the ride height.

    You do need to disconnect the anti roll bars to corner weight the car. If you have significant difference in height from one side to the other, then you will need adjustable drop links to even out the pressure.
    Your percentages front to rear don't add up... is that a type error? total should add up to 100%.
    It is really difficult to balance a road car from one side to the other and keep the ride height reasonable. You can really effect bump steer also by running the geometry uneven. Try getting the 2 fronts as even as possible to help with braking and front wheel traction.
    Also make sure your set up is perfectly flat with floating platforms. Without this it will be pointless.
    truth is, corner wieghting really isn't a DIY job as you can really affect other areas of geometry if you aren't careful. We use a hunter 4 wheel alignment system with level/floating platforms.
