confused about bulbs

have checked haines manual , and various websites they say h7 dip beam h7 main beam but my car has h7 h4 does this sound right , want to order some brighter bulbs but as title a little confused

take the bulbs out and look at what type they are?

h4s have three terminals on them and have dip and main filaments in the same bulb

h7s have two terminals on them and one filament. but depending on the lamp/reflector design they are fitted in, can be used in both dip and main beam applications.

have had the bulbs out they are as u [and i] have said just seemed funny that everyone else says h7 h7 my car is h7 h4 h7 dipped beam h4 is main beam and the other filament is foglight
