Not putting any effort into sellling my s3 but should the right car come along at a dealer then I'm considering p/exchanging but think they will be put off by the bilstein coilovers. Worried the car may seem too 'specialist' as I explain the remap/coilovers/milltek/rear ARB.

Option is to put them up for sale or ideally swap for a more std set up. I don't fancy the OEM stuff but possibly bilstein/eibach using bilsteins OEM replacement dampers so they look standard.

Would be a shame to take them off but would it be worth the hassle? More of a shame if somebody, like I was, is looking for an s3 that they won't need to spend money on to get to handle better.

Any opinions or experience with trading in?

I was looking for a modified S3, but wanted one privately to assess the history of the car, and the quality of the mods. I got my modified S3 for quite a good price because it was modified, because it limits your market. If you're not removing the mods, can't you just trade it as std? I know a guy who traded in a 1.9 Jabba conversion with all sorts of mods, the garage has no idea when I enquired regarding the mods :)
Do you have the PSS9's? Can't you just raise the ride height?

Cheers for the reply

I could raise the height no problem. I could sell it as std bar the stainless exhaust and map which I suppose doesn't exactly stand out. But unlike most car dealers I have a conscience:laugh:

Other option is to return to standard and sell off the coilovers and rear ARB. I wouldn't bother changing the exhaust and don't think you can swap a remap for a std map:laugh:

I'm thinking as the value of these s3 start to get down to where mine is then it opens up a wider range of buyers and hopefully more enthusiastic ones that want an s3 that isn't dull.

Where's that c-spanner for the coilovers:think:

If they are PSS9 coilovers, I was looking at a low mileage set on ebay for £450, I think they were less than a year old with a few thousand miles on them, hope this gives yoiu an idea of value :)
You could sell it on Pistonheads, this is where I've had most success in selling modified cars.

ill have the bits of ya if ur selling them, why sell them with the car when u can get extra cash on top of what ur asking
