hi guys

its that time now.

its gonna be an expensive month for me.

insurance is due and my clutch started slipping this morning.

i have an Audi A4 DTM and love it but the clutch starting slipping this morning.

What set up would you recommend.? i still need to remap the car and upgrade the exhaust.

well its not going to be a cheap job which ever way you look at it, are you looking to DIY fix or garage, prices will vary accordingly.

First what is your aim power wise?

For A4 is not to much options. If you aim like me 350-400lbs go with Awesome GTI smf or like i did order from JHM from US smf with RS4 clutch plate. Still didn't fit the turbo because i need to drive 500 miles to bed in.

Yet again, another pointless, uninformative post from this member. Can you elaborate on this?
Why is it pointless? When you talk about clutch It is torque not power.

My mistake. Yes its true, when we speak about clutch only torque matters.

So what is it when we talk about BHP and TORQUE? are these not measurements of power?

Im not disputing that torque isnt relavant when discussing clutches etc. My point is sandra just shouting a single word in 99.9% of your posts is not really a discussion or a view is it? The OP has asked a question and is looking for informative answers etc and this is a pointless response is it not?

Got nothing constructive to say? = Dont say anything.

As stifler says Awesome Gti are good for Solid mass flywheel conversion clutches etc. Also SACH's do a "standard" kit for the DTM's but it all depends on what power gains your looking to get from the map and exhaust whether the std clutch can handle the increase in torque.

all im going to do is remap it.

ive been told that the LUK ones are good. i can get the clutch and flywheel for around £400. if i uprate to SACHS, will the pedal be heavy?

Are you looking to stay Dual Mass or Single?

To replace with a standard OEM type you are looking around £350-£400 for the parts. Upgraded, either single or dual incl. new flywheel then £700+
If you remap and you like quick starts from the lights then you will definitely need an uprated clutch, however....
I am still using the standard OEM clutch with 268bhp/289ft/lb which is fine for every day.. even the occasional getaway! but it can slip if pushed.

Note the flywheel condition if retaining!

Right, an update

all seemed to be going well until they started to put it back together.

firstly, it had a diesel starter motor on it and a solid flywheel from a 1.8t 20v B5. and the clutch to match. i dont know how.

the right clutch and dual mass flywheel fits in the gearbox but the starter motor is causing the problem.

can anyone help?
