alrite guys a have got a Xreg (210bhp) 2001 but the clutch was slippin in 5th and 6th for about 3wks but has just stoped and now in the morning or when left for a couple of hours when you press the clutch there is no feeling till ur foot is halfway down to the floor but when driveing for about half a hour ist fine the clutch is back to normal does any1 have any ideas or heard of this in the past? thank u

Sounds like the clutch is on its way out, they can get better when they warm up and the components expand a bit, how many miles has the car done?

its done 63,000 but when a got the car it was over revin when goin up the gears and it was the little box behinde the clutch it woz fookd but a dont knowhow long it was like that for b4 a got the car. a gave a couple of places a call the day and there just sayin master cylinder and slave cylinder but they ant realy sure and am no use a dont have a clue about cars lol

You might get more help if you used some punctuation!

It sounds like the clutch is wearing out to me. Clutch problems can come and go, but will get progressively worse over time, for sure.

cool thanks very much. just need to work out who to take it to audi want 1100 to do the clutch plus labour so see wot happins. Thanks again.

Audi are at it, specialist will do it for half that

Don't get it done at Audi, it's a complete rip off. If you've got a remap or are considering one, I recommend an uprated clutch. They are about £200 more than standard. I had mine done for £900 at an independent. Beats the £1100 quoted by Audi for standard!

audi are £222 for the standerd clutch but i am thinkin about gettin it re-mapd, do u guys think the standerd clutch would just go again if a never got it up-graded? a realy need to get it done asap, when pressin the clutch the pedal wasnt comin back up it was stickin half way so a had to bring it up to the top with my foot, wish a knew a bit about cars lol

That could be all sorts of problems, maybe its the clutch master cylinder...
