clunk

    1.6 2003 sport

    this is my daughters car

    seting off in 1st is smooth into 2nd smooth
    into 3rd clunk 4th clunk
    if it was a RWD id think prop

    clutch not slipping etc
    any ideas
    TIA.

    The clunk is this when clutch pedal released or when gear lever goes into gear etc, more info required I'd say.

    I have just started getting this too, it's when the clutch is let out and the power is put back on.

    Dip clutch, shift, revs dropping, raise clutch to bite and transitioning to power, clunk, power

    its quite subtle like a pop before the revs are picking up again and the power is down.

    I don't get it on soft, easy shifts, only when the shift is quicker and with more power.

    Could be subframe movement that others have complained about, there's a £200 kit from the US that apparently fixes this.

    No its not vast, but the bolts are stretch ones & there is some space for minor movement back/forth, search on here for the thread as I cant recall name.

    Sure - already been through Welly's thread and that looked horrific, spent £1k chasing a clunk. I will NOT be doing that lol
