Hi guys ive owned my S3 for around 3 months now and already ploughed alot of time and effort into it.

It started off life big standard bar some big daft 19" alloys which made the car handle like ****........they were the 1st thing to go!

Anyways, Im orginally from the world of Evos my last one being this 500bhp monster

Push came to shove and after all that hard work i decided to sell it. Pretty glad i did as i was putting around £400-500 a month of Vpower in it haha! Awesome car but not practical or reliable.

So this brings me to where i started off. Bog standard S3 FSH, 60k miles, timing belt, water pump done!

The car had some corrosion spots on the front wings, rear boot handle and the gutter rails on the roof. The first port of call was the body shop to get these sorted.

Upon its return i gave the car a major service

Engine oil
Gearbox oil
Filter
Air filter
Plugs
Haldex filter and oil
Rear diff oil

Happy with that i proceded to drive it haha. You will find out in this thread im a sucker for giving myself work to do!!

Original pics of the car when i 1st got it

next up was to get those crappy 19s off and sold. I managed to pick up a set of
TT alloys and had them refurbbed and new rubber put on.

I then gave the whole car a paint correction using Meguiars products and my trusty machine polisher! Picked up a set of wind deflectors and private plate fitted. Already the car was looking 100 times better. All about attention to detail!

Whislt the wheels were off i stripped off all 4 calipers and refurbbed them myself. Vanish Oxi action in a basin with hot water and a hard nail brush got all the crud off then resprayed and clear coat!

Was missing the growl from my Evo so i decided to buy a full Miltek resonated system with decat! It was a total nightmare trying to split the cats from downpipe but i got there eventually!

Rear end now

Car is a bit throatier on boost now.

Wheels just didnt sit quite right so i fitted some 20mm spacers all round. Looking meaner now

Im happy with how the car sits now. Not going to ruin my ride comfort by lowering it as i dont see the need. It handles fine as it is

The quest for more throatiness continues.......

Honda S2000 filter bought for £11 and a home made attempt at a heat shield

Sounds much nicer now!

Week or two later i found a cheap Samco 2nd hand TIP on ebay. Cleaned up well and finished off the job nicely

Much difference? I didnt think there would be any noteable differences in power as im only running stage 1 and dont have any plans to do anything else tuning wise

10-15hp on most cars... have seen gains on unmapped cars too

<tuffty/>

Yeah but it isnt going to be a 10-15bhp gain over a Samco TIP is the point i meant .

Those gains will be swapping out a standard pipe?

You dont need to remove the front bumper to remove that teim fella. No it doesnt bother me that much lol

From memory you push the grills back. But dont do this on a gravel drive as there are metal clips holding them on.
Then you should be able to feel the plastic clips holding the insert in the surround pulls off when you release the clips.
Its easy when you do it if my instructions are terrible :(

Trust me i racked up over £15k on my last evo

There comes a point where you end up working in your life for your car rather than the car working for you..... Enjoy it with your subtle changes. It's looking good.

Done few bits and bobs today.

Engine and oil filter changed
Silicone top hoses fitted and finally changed haldex oil and filter
