    Good evening all,

like many of us on this forum I enjoy trying to keep my a4 b6 avant in the best condition possible, both aesthetically and mechanically. I have a vast selection of meguiars cleaning and detailing products, a da polisher and jet wash with snow foam lance.

Even so there will always be small chips and scratches that can not be removed or covered. This is where chipex comes is.

i have come across a product called chipex and was wondering if anyone has used these products? They look too good to be true but I am going to purchase one of the kits!

My my intention is to see if the kit stands up to its claims and to see if it is as easy to use as it states. I have contacted the company and negotiated a deal. Basically I will get a kit and if it is effective and top quality and recommend to forum members. If members on this forum are interested I have pre-arranged for a further discounted rate to audi-sport members.

Does this sound like a good plan? And I will post pictures as evidence as with all these products there are doubts. But I'm hoping to prove this as a cost effective way of repairing road rash and stone chips.

    Regards Shaun

I've used Chipex with no issues. I had certain deep chips that aren't cured but are much improved. What I liked about it is that the cleaning solution will remove excess paint if you have overdone it so it feels very safe to use.

If you search there are a few mentions on the forums about it.

Any reviews would be great and even better as I have negotiated a forum deal. So if we gather interest we will get a limited offer for two weeks or so.

Hi Shaun, if the interest is there and you go ahead with a group buy Please could you follow the standard group buy process as per forum rules and get it passed by the forum admin. Many thanks and good luck testing the product.

I will if you can provide me with information regarding what I need to do to pass it to you guys. Cheers. Its an offer rather than a group buy. Basically ill pass the forum name to the distributer and when you quote the forum there will be a discount. I will upload this information soon.

Had a go yesterday in bright sunshine, which made it a tad harder to locate all the chips so some got missed and I will need to have another go at it.
Its very easy to use and the results are truly amazing. Wipe over the area with the blue stuff, dob the paint on, tap it with your finger, let it dry, wipe back over with the blue stuff. As you are wiping it over it starts to get more obvious as the applied paint get lighter, then it disappears and you cannot see where you done.
Very simple and easy to use.
    I will willingly recommend it.

I'd be up for a group buy on this, I'm currently debating what should come first... a correctional detail or a re-spray. Maybe if this proves effective I can repair some of the chips and get away with a detail and no respray...

The reason I missed a few, well, a lot actually, was that because it was bright sunshine I was wearing polarized Oakley shades, which hid a lot of them.
It went on fine in the bright sun but probably dried quicker.
Mine is Lava Grey Pearl Metallic and the paint match is perfect.
Don't let the quantity on the website fool you when it says enough for a dozen / two dozen chips, I bought the medium kit and did around 40 chips using just the paint in the lid once I had shook it, so you will be able to do a lot more. The only things you will run out of are the little micro tip applicators and also the blue blending fluid, but I probably used more because they dried up quicker in the sun.

I'd definitely be interested in giving this a go, I'll be trying a traditional touch up kit on some complete craters of chips tomorrow evening but this would suit perfectly for the general road rash.

Im just waiting for funding. With a baby on the way this purchase is on the burner until my overtime comes in its fair to say most people on here reccomend it so it must be a good buy. They might have offers on anyway at the moment so check out their site. I hope to get it done in the summer too!

Not too impressed with it. I have a lava grey a3, with quite a bit of road rash on the front.
I found that when doing the 'blending', after the paint had dried, the chipex paint went very silvery in colour, and I had to spend a while rubbing so it wasn't obvious and it was basically completely gone.

I'd be up for this too. What's happening with the group buy ? It's been done on other forums and Chipex have kindly supplied the Road Rash kit (the large pack) for the price of the Lite ( the small pack).
I think they asked for 20 members to sign up.

Sorry guys I know I have never followed this through but baby is here now and car has been put on hold. So to speak although I have an interior swap to do.........some day. If someone rings and mentions the forum they will set up a code for anyone who calls to order a kit and mentions the forum. So if anyone is willing to take the responsibility give them a call and they will sort you out.
