If VAGCOM read it then there will be a description too? post that else it means nowt... might be able to get a vague idea from the decription...

Ross Tech wiki doesn't have every code it would appear...

A quick google (the other source for VAGCOM codes ;P) came up with this...
P1539 Clutch Vacuum Vent Valve switch - implausible signal

Not even sure where that is but look for a switch somewhere around the clutch mech for a start..

I've had a few things that ross-tech didnt have.

You can try posting it up on the VCDS part of this forum as some of the Ross-Tech staff get on there and can help.

Shouldn't need to rest anything when you change the clutch switch.

You do need to clear the codes... they don't clear themselves... if it comes back then you still have 'a' problem but... that not a fault code normally associated with the clutch switch iirc....

Unless you clear it the code will stay when you fit a new switch, but won't cause a problem as the ECU will see it's working.

BTW the switch is a fit once part so you do need to fit it correctly or it won't work.
