Check if you're affected.

just a little concerned as to wether i will lose any power or not, or wether the road tax will change, maybe fuel consumption?

Road tax won't change as the emissions are based on carbon content not nitrogen oxides.
AdBlue removes nitrogen oxides but the retrofit costs for that are likely to be too high.

P.S Mine is not effected.....and uses AdBlue

Are you sure mate as my wife's is a B8 2008 143 ,

Si

Although Audi website said I wasn't affected, I got the letter today from Audi to say that I am. My mates 136 is also affected as per his letter today.

My Audi 2.0 TDI is supposed to get 62 mpg I'm getting 44 in cruise control - my car is affected so I hope they can improve this

Would this fix erase any remapping?
Same here Dan.
and yes it is likely to remove a map.

My wife's car 2.0 tdi 143 was not getting very good mpg at all , now DPF out and remap done getting over 50mpg, the things they put on these cars to try to help emissions really does not help in my opinion

Had my letter off Audi, mines affected..Doesnt really concern me as long as the BHP isnt reduced by the new map, if it is ill see what my options are regarding compo ;)

I can see Audi not giving any thing to any one

My sister's boyfriend got his letter for his 1.6 a3, somehow has it booked as an emergency recall. I for one am in no rush to get it done as no doubt there'll be a few bugs in the new software

I wonder what will happen if you refuse to have the new software mapped??

If i hook my vag-com up to my pc, will i get a recording of the fuel consumtion and performance as im driving. If so ill be doing it.

My wife got her letter yesterday, it's a 2011 2.0tdi Quattro black edition 170. The car runs fine, gets good mpg, has passed its first mot ok, out of warranty, so why bother with the recall ?? It's always been serviced by a good vag specialist ( never Audi ). Is it compulsory to get done, or optional ?

i had my letters but a bit confused, My 58 plate was affected, 13 plate affected, 64 plate affected (all my previous cars) but i've not received a letter for 15 plate, so i presume not affected, confused as to why they'd be telling me about cars i no longer own.

ah mine has adblue too.. happy days, although feck knows what that is either..

Unless a new owner informs Audi uk of a change of owner or there local Audi dealership the system will show that you are still the owner. We had the same issue when I contacted them about a previous issue on my wife's car. They do not seem to use dvla as a check.
Hope this explains ,

Affected A4 B8 100kW CAGB. I am not getting my car fixed if I loose mapping. I have paid 600eur for chip tunning.

It's made from concentrated pigs urine.
It can travel up wiring and eat circuit boards. So always make sure you're careful with it.

Seeing allot of people worried it will affect MPG, it should not at all based on the logic that; the software they are removing is only triggered when the car detects it in in lab conditions and the software then tells the ECU 'we are being tested, turn down performance so we get better MPG and Emissions'.
It is not active on roads in normal driving conditions. (from what I have read and my friend testing them for whatcar currently)
Feel free to correct me on anything, that is just my uderstanding of it.
Quit panicking :) I will be heading straight for my dpf/egr "fix" and map after anyway so I am really not bothered atall.
Audi update software all the time during normal services and dont even say, this one just happens to be plastered all over the news.

It is more the fact of what they are going to do to lower the emissions not the cheat software removal, they will have to make sure all cars effected have emissions that are road legal. They are looking at hardware and/or software measures to lower emissions, as my car the the 136 bhp model then anything lower will make the car pathetic to drive.

They arnt allowed to drop the BHP its against the law.. There will be law suits going on every where. Was talking to a chap that worked for bentley and they had an email about the emissions fiasco thats going on and he said we may be getting new engines if the software doesnt sort it.

You mean like rigging emissions tests is against the law?........

They are not allowed to alter the BHP or fuel consumption on the car, so the map they will put on has to match the BHP and MPG of the car when it was purchased. If either of these drop then there will be lawsuits. Personally i dont think the new map will lower emissions, and keep the BHP and MPG it was first built with.

I just brought my 177 sline home this evening and it's being recalled. When viewing the car and doing the finance at Audi Inch Cape in Maidstone they never mentioned it until the last paper to sign and explained it. Feel a bit taken for granted really and a bit disappointed.

Taken for granted is right mate I would kick up a right fuss about the way that the sale was handled ,
Hope you sort it !

Hi everyone,

Im new on here fantastic forum looking through, I have a question for if anyone knows :)

I have had my A4 for just over a month and found out its on the recall is there anything to say that the fix will affect the performance rather then just rumours?
