Check Engine Light

I just bought a 97 A4 1.8, it has about 90k on it and the check engine light comes on. I took it ot the local audi dealer here and they say that it is very common and nothing to worry about, has anyone else had this issue and do I leave it alone or should I get it taken care of? Any help would be great since I have had honda's forever and this is my first audi,

also could anyone tell me the lug pattern? Need to buy some new rims.

Yes, you should probably worry about a CEL. If it is flashing, it's a worse problem, if it's just on all the time, it's not AS serious, but should still be taken care of. See if you can find someone with a VAG-COM near you to check it out for you. As for the lug pattern, someone else will have to help you there.
