Cheaper connection for basic diasgnosis

The 3 people local to me with VCDS have not been on this forum since 2012, so I ended up at the garage today. It cost £36 to find the faults and reset them. And they have not come back.

Looking on ebay, there's cheap things like VS450 Audi VW Volkswagen VAG Code Reader Diagnostic Scanner Com Reset Airbag ABS | eBay

Would this read/reset codes, just like what I paid someone £36 to do?

If not, what does anyone else have that's less than £250 for the full kit?

Thing is, with paying £36 for garage, then £30 for this which is in no way anywhere close to vcds offerings, that's already got you below £200 extra for the vcds & future uses will easily pay for itself.

I know it seems allot, but trust me, the convenience & usability far outweighs the cost of the item, never had one client regret the purchase or not worth its weight in gold

yea, just wanted something to tide me over.

Obviously don't wanna spend 36 quid a time at the garage, but then I might not need it again until I can afford the proper one.

Such a dilemma, lol
