Why would you buy 502.00 505.01 ?

You don't think that's a good price?

VW502.00 is recommended for my S7 on a fixed schedule (I change every 10k miles)

I usually pay around £40 for 4ltrs.

Jeez Gaz your a broken record.

5w40 > 5w30

I'd understand if you were complaining about an oil which isn't specified for our cars in every oil thread but you keep saying to buy an oil which most people believe to be inferior.

I'm an educating record....

Most ?

Yes , 504.00 507.00 isn't specified for my 2003 because the specification was released in 2004 thus won't appear in the handbook .

Thanks to my ramblings the penny dropped for a veteran Nottingham independent who writes technical articles for VAG magazines , as he now exclusively uses 504.00 507.00 .

And then the really educated by the 504 0w-30 shell helix avl that VW spent 3 years developing with them to reduce startup viscosities in the uk by up to 40%.

Indeed , make it protect at high temperatures with minimal cold viscosity that usually eats the mpg during warm up .

2-3% doesn't interest alot as they stick on 20" wheels .

Or PurePlus which is gas derived group 3 basestock which has less impurities .

0W30 AVL is so similar to 0W30 ECT I'm surprised AVL isn't also a C2 like ECT .

The extra cost over the popular Quantum Longlife III sees Shell a rare choice .

It's what audi use (unless they have old stock to use up). I stocked up from opie when they had a sale as the RS would sip a litre every couple of k miles!

You're a man of many words Gaz

I for one refuse to buy 4 Litre cans of oil, sometimes you need a little top, don't they realise this, yes they do they're in it for THE MONEY.

Using aye suggests Scottish or Geordie, taking bets now.
