Have a new S4 due later this month and want to protect the exterior and interior, so looking to find if anyone can recommend somewhere/someone based in or around Reading/Bracknell area please..?

Secondly, what is the best plan of action getting it from the dealer i.e. should I ask for it not to be fully prep'd for me, etc..??

Thanks in advance guys.

Can't answer your query on a detailer, but I know it is best to tell the dealer to leave all the delivery packaging on the car and let your detailer look after the prep from start to finish. This will help keep the car as swirl free as possible and actually reduce your detailer costs.

I would recommend Nick @ Detail my car in Newbury, he's done new car preps and coatings on my current and previous S4's (he also did my wife's car). He's not local to me, but I rate him highly so make the 160 mile round trip!
I'm sure other guys on here would also agree @scotty76 ?
He's very busy and sometimes difficult to get hold of at the moment, but his work is top.

Have a look at his website and FB page

@Headzup - Have a look here -

May or may not help you lol

These were my requests to the supplying Dealer when I got my my new S4 which they obliged me with -
1. When the car is delivered to the Dealership can the white transit plastic film be removed (which I believe it has to be as part of the PDI), but otherwise do not touch it at all. No washing or any prep work of any sort
2. Can the car be supplied with 'normal' number plates. NOT the one's with the light blue EU flash at the ends
3. Can the number plates be stuck on with sticky pads and NOT screwed on
4. NO Dealer stickers in the rear window

I detailed my car myself

My detailer is based down in Basingstoke - my new Q5 had a new car detail with internal and external surfaces coated. Paint was done with Max Protect UNC-R Elite. http://www.fmdetailing.co.uk/

Don't listen to @Bristle Hound, once you take the red pill and follow him down the rabbit hole of detailing, there's no turning back! :respekt:

Happy to second @Keef 's suggestion of DetailMyCar in Newbury. Nick really knows his craft, been using him for years. Had 3 new car protection details done over the last few years and various maintenance details. He's not far from the station so easy enough to catch the train back to Reading.

I asked the dealer to do the minimum prep to assure the warranty on my S4. They removed the transit films and gave it a rinse down with a hose but otherwise I picked it up dirty which is just the way I wanted it! :)

I had autoglym lifeshine applied at the dealer before I collected the car. Seems to be Ok, beading is apparent and has a lifetime guarantee.
Some sort of clear coat covers the whole car and they do the same kind of protective coat with the interior.
