Collected my a3 3 days ago now , it's 2008 170tdi Quattro sportback. It has a few extras such as heated seats nav/tv Bose sound system etc , when loading a cd in the nav slot cd shows up as cd7 , but cans fin anywhere the cd changer if it even has one, Ive checked the boot briefly and doesn't look like its in there and no hatches appear to be accessible and as for the glove box they's is a rather useless iPod dock can any body help me on this situation thanks , I would ideally like a changer even if I have to install it myself and if possible an iPod dock that works with an iPhone , thanks

I think the iPod dock pretends to be a 6 CD changer.
The 6 CD's correspond to the first 6 playlists you have saved - it's a pretty daft solution in my opinion.
If you have the RNS-E sat nav then the easiest solution is just to stick all of your music on to an SD card.
