CAT Glowing RED!

I was driving home today and when I slowed for a stop light I felt what seem to be the engine shaking. I pulled over and popped the hood, my catalytic converter was glowing red. I am guessing fuel is either too rich or too lean and caused the cat to mess up.

Is there a free download for VAG-COM so I can get the code? I have a laptop and the cable.

If not any idea who sells it the cheapest?

free from ross tech website, you need the old version depending on the cable you have. is it an eBay special?
version 7041 if I recall

Cat is blocked, stop driving it unless you want a head gasket failiure too
