    A "slammed" car doesn't handle.

    It's purely cosmetic.

I hate coilovers, never been in a German car with coilovers but plenty of jap cars and the ride is horrid on our roads. Shocks and springs for me everytime, Coilovers for a dedicated track car. Just my opinion

What would you guys consider to be the best option; I'd like to drop mine as much as possible but I don't want to sacrifice the handeling, if anything I'd want it lowered to improve the handeling.

I don't have an endless budget, but I know that on a car that's nearly 10 years old it's current suspension is probably on it's last legs and could most definitely do with having some bits replaced. I'd like to do this with some aftermarket kit that's gonna get her sitting nicely on the 18's and make things a little less hairy around the corners if possible.

    Suggestions and prices? Thanks =]

I have been down the shocks and springs route, and the coilovers improve ride and handling more than the Eibach kit did, hands down.

Ebay has coilovers for around £200 and i think Billybravo can do Jamex at a good price too

That's easy; as little as possible but with the best possible return. Really I couldn't afford anything above £300 but that's still pretty pricey for my little student budget.

weitec GTN's have coilover fronts then a 3 (i think) slots at the back for the platform height, cost £300, quite good quality. slammed mine to a sensible height, any lower and you are going to have problems. fronts i can wind down until the wheels end up touching the arches.

weitec also do other kits that are fully coilovers, weitec are made by KW by the way.

not the smartest thing to do. I just bought a car with choppy chop springs in it and what a fecking disgrace. She was a pig ofa motor and they springs wudnt sit on the shock correctly, front left did use the spring at all, just the shock. was a botch of a job.

got a coilover set in at the moment from ebay as a stop gap to a better set. but overall they seem to be doing a great job f

i dont think we can give you an exact number to wind them by, its a matter off how you want it to look. best thing is tell person fitting htem you want so much of a gap between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch. work from their

thats was the before. the after will be along soon lol shes sitting on axel stands at the moment :(

but really think how low your willing to go. as she is above she felt every dam bump or hole it could find. I would think sometimes that she went looking for them. do not cut your springs in any shape or form.

spend the money, if not for looks then for peace of mind:rockwoot::rockwoot:

I'm running coilovers on mine, set of FK highsports set me back just short of £500 from Venom (Quattro model)...ride is horrible but people say handling is better with standard suspension...that's a load of tosh mate, hardly any body roll with the coillies but the ride is awful compared to standard suspension...even with the winter tractor tyres on!

I find my ride to be better than standard. With the standard suspension i got sea sick whenever i accelerated, braked or turned.

Mines on Nuspeed-Bilstein (grooved) with h&R springs, Rides a little firm for some but goodbye bodyroll and hello corners!

In my personal opinion- unless you live in a perfect town, going too low is madness.

With usual UK narrow roads, too many cars parked, busy car parks and so on I love the fact i can (slowly) mount a kerb from the side whenever needed and don't need to worry about my rieger front scraping.

I think im going to end up with shocks and springs as there are so many arguements to each, i drive my car everyday so i need it comfy but, i want it to handle well and be dropped.
