Car reg not on insurance database?

During changing my insurance yesterday upon giving my reg for audi i pick up tomorrow the guy on the phone said nothing came up?? Then gave him some details on the car, audi s3 2011 black edition he found it. Strange!
Already done hpi check which found it but it doesn't give model. Both plate and vin match and not been stolen etc. Anyone else encountered this? Should i be concerned?

maybe its had a recent number plate transfer, that can sometimes cause this problem.

It's dependent on the DVLA database being up-to-date, so sammi may be right. Maybe it was on a private plate before you bought it.

Yeah I would say give it some time may have had a private plate on it before, might be worth your time to send dvla an email?
