cant seem to reset the inspec light

firstly, what are you running on the board as crashing my firefox and slowing down my writing, all ok on other sites

crashed 4 times writing above

8l model with old school clock on left

done the push in trip, turn key and then pull clock to get - - -. on re turning key is back

next door even done it from snap on tool and does the same on re turning key

now crashed every few words?

Try using vcds, cheep ebay cable and vcds lite should work.

Snap on is £1000s of pounds and does the same as the trip button way. So why would vcds do any better? I have that and a lead mate so can try

How are you trying to reset it?

From memory you need to go in the special functions and change a hex bit from 1 to 0 or the other way round

hi, it might not be any better but for £6-10, you have a really good diagnostics tool you can use to read and reset fault codes etc.

That's what I did . 5 times as well as tried back to front. Then told the garage next door wasn't working
They said no worries did the snap on and they could not do it as well

if vcds wont reset it
then its either a fault on the car or a faulty person using the vcds.
