Can You fit 215 section tyres ????????

    Hi guys

    Probably a really stupid question but can you fit 215 45 17 section tyres instaed of 225 ????? will it screw up any of the handling ???

    you COULD do yes, buy they would look silly......

    They will make the car look very under tyred, and change the rolling radius slightly too.

    Why would you ever want to put narrower tyres on the car mate?

    just being a cheapskate really my mate has jus sold his garage and there is a set of 4 new toyos he said i could take. guess they can go on e bay and take him out for a beer and stop trying to be cheap !! lol !

    Standard is 225/45 where the 45 part is a percentage of the tread(225 part), so a 215/45 would equal a lower side wall reducing your rolling radius.

    becaue the tyre profile is a expressed as a percentage of the tyre width.....

    reduce the width and keep the profile the same, the rolling radius will decrease!

    Beaten to it!

    That said, although I know what I said is technically correct, I'm sure my 225/40/18's dont have 90mm high sidewalls! They look more like 40mm!
