Hi guys,

I've been with SKY second year now.
Called them today to change my address and car on the policy.
The adviser came back to me saying that Chaucer will not insure me on the address I moved to.
It is ****** strange because my girlfriend didn't have any problems with her insurance company.
The problem is that they want to charge me £50 for cancelling the policy!

It isn't me who is cancelling. In the policy there is no list of postcodes which are excluded from their insurance so how
was I supposed to know? It is really annoying because I will have to pay the admin fee £50, plus I will lose 5 months no claim discount and will have to pay deposit etc. for the new insurance.

Really annoyed with Sky which seemed like a decent insurance company.
I think it is time to move to competition.

If you're paying monthly perhaps just get your bank to stop the transactions. They'll stop insuring you and will be sending letters to an old address. Don't know if this is legal... but I'd be tempted to do it.

I would suggest talking to the omnibusman. I once had virgin tell me they could no longer insure me, but were forced to carry on the policy. They have not listed the address as non insurable, and should continue but refuse to reinsure you next year.

sky are atrocious from personal experience.
