hi guys im new to the forum first post
ive had a few problems with my first audi a3 1.8T (2001)
its been remapped and various other things before i brought it

    problems Engine manigment light on
    missfired so changed coilpack
Thought this would fix and a new set of plugs
but it still idles like a bag of ****e then stalls sometimes
so changed plugs back to old same problem idles fine then drops splutters then picks back up ?

Also i cannot get any constant heat into the car its hot for say 5-10 sec on high fan Then it goes cold
The temp gauge is on 90 and never moves over checked the in and out let pipes into the bulk head they are both hot as well (fans do come on alot even at this temp which is strange ?)

so i got hold of a snap-on vag thingy hooked it up and got these results

I would take a note and clear the codes, take it for a run and start again, Looks like there have been battery issues in the past, they could be old codes that have not been cleared on successful repairs...

With that description after the fault clear you did i would look at the lambda sensor

i found out that the guy before fitted a golf gti downpipe with cat (so i was told )

but they is only one lambda sensor was connected on the downpipe
The one after the cat missing (golfs dunna have it) so i asked
i found this lambda in the boot
so its either new audi downpipe n cat or maybe get someone to retap a thread into the pipe after the cat like the audi should have
    and have both on again
many thanks again for your time

check the breather hose below inlet manifold as these cause lambda codes as you will have a air leak
also clean and reset throttle body

You can have it mapped out by a tuner or if there is a cat, just get a new boss welded in..
