Recently, a B7 Concert II+ come up on eBay at the right price so I have bought and installed it in my 2003 B6 A4. Everything works fine (with kufatec loom) with the Concert II+, but my steering wheel controls aren't really working. Volume control works as it always did, but the up/down and left/right controls (freq up/down and next/prev preset channels) don't work at all. I've looked at the coding options in 56-Radio and changed the code just to see if it has any effect, but it doesn't.

Obviously, I'm aware the radio was designed for a B7 and it's in a B6. I just wondered if anybody had any thoughts as to whether this can be made to work?

Cheers

Post a full log of your car.

Here it is (Ignore the Streering wheel faults as that was me messing with the coding, I don't have telephone. Also the radio faultsa re because I don't have the diversity antenna, but signal is still fine.)

Try this as your car thinks its seeing some features that are not coded to the car.

Adaptation [h=3]Channel 081: Vehicle Data Learning[/h]To start the process for vehicle data (VIN) learning, enter/save 26467 as new value.

Thanks. I tried the vehicle data learning. It allowed me to do it in Steering wheel, but only with code 00111 - it wouldn't accept 26467. There's no channel 81 in Radio to let me do vehicle data learning. It just says Error not available.

Any ideas?

You see this link shows some kinda correlation with your errors as it shows coding for telling car it has tel & voice control fitted, but your coding doesnt say this for the radio fitted, which is why its so weird.

Audi Radio Generation II - Ross-Tech Wiki

This coding below is for the II+ units which doesnt either show why it would be as is:

Audi Radio Generation II Plus - Ross-Tech Wiki

But, try decoding mfsw within 56 now & leaving the 16 steering set as mfsw installed & vice versa if has no effect.

Right, I've changed the coding in radio - I turned off MFSW. Nothing changed, the steering wheel buttons still worked the volume, but nothing else. If I turned MFSW on in Radio and off in Steering Wheel, nothing worked. With MFSW on in both modules, only the volume buttons work. With them both off, nothing works.

I tried changing the coding as if it were a Concert II and it wouldn't accept it, only the coding for Concert II+

I think the telephone fault codes were caused when I changed the coding just to see if I could get it working (then I ran an auto-scan without clearing them)

Hiya. Sadly I'm nowhere - I'm wary of just arbitrarily changing coding just to see if I can make it work as I could cause problems. I'm starting to think of just finiding a nice 3-spoke non MFSW sport wheel and doing away with it altogether. Really don't want to do that though as the MFSW, though a bit ugly, is really useful!

Hello all. First of all sorry for bumping old thread, but I was searching a lot, and founded this thread with same problem as benjie except I do not have any errors of phone and etc.

Short story. I have 2004 A4 B6 with MFSW for radio control only. Now I have upgraded with Concert 2+ from newer B7, and in my MFSW working only volume - or volume + buttons. I believe I have coded radio correct. Thanks a lot for any helpful information. Peace.
