I'm currently undertaking a DQ500 gearbox swap (from DQ250)
From what I've been told the DQ500 is CAN-bus only rather than the additional K-line on the DQ250 so should be plug and play aslong as you have the pins all going to the rig ones
I've had VCDS plugged in and it seems to communicate with the module but I get an odd fault code - something about a missing signal (which I can only think is the G85 (steering angle sensor) as it seemed to remove the basic setting (coding Is now greyed out in the 44 module - steering assist)
Otherwise is it possible that I may need to upgrade the current Can-gateway from 1K0907530B to e.g 1K0907530AD (tiguan) or even 8P0907530C (RS3) - I'm wondering if it's to do with the CAN-gateway protocol trying to do whatever it's doing down the K-line
I'm going to try and do the basic setting on the G85 when I get it back together and I have a spare G85 from when I did MFSW swap if in doubt! - I didn't end up needing it!
