hello.

just had my ecu replaced and then remapped with a custom code remap. (stage one). drove it down the road, all is well. boost boost boost boost.

went home. big grin. went out to audi garage yesterday morning, boosting like no ones business. audi didnt have the part i needed, so got back in the car and nothing, driveing like a n/a 1.8 but i can hear the turbo spooling up. but no boost.

opened the bonet and found that the bottom pipe had come off the DV. but it back on. did a VAG-COM scan. (before hand mind you)

and got the following.

ecu replaced in a 8p ?? what went wrong ??/ as for your probs sorry im not any help there
its an 8l mate. :)

when i had my turbo replaced part of the deal was a custom code remap. when the guys at storm went to do the remap. it had a differnt type of custom remap on it. like someone had done it at home. when they tried to put there remap on it crashed the ecu, its now been fixed and put back on my car.

it says chassis type 8p thats why hes said that.

sorry it was from the vag com results says Chassis Type: 8P - Audi A3/S3 havn`t delt with vag com much yet ........

oh yeah so it does..... sorry mate. :)

I'm not a VAG-COM expert - not had it long - but could these faults be something as simple as the battery being disconnected when you had the work done?

I haven't used mine for a bit so I'm saying this from memory, but don't you select the chasis type from the list before you run a scan - could this be a cause for false errors? If so, it might pay you to do another scan with the right chasis type selected?

I'd be tempted to clear the faults (after saving them of course - in case you need them for future reference) and then taking it for a run to see what comes up.

Might be worth posting in the VC forum as well?

if the dump valve pops off it shouldnt effect anything it just means you wont be boosting. i take it you got the standard dumpvalve installed? if so check the connection between the boost pipe ( located in the back of the engine bay) and the dump valve, this is where your leak wil probably be! is there any boost leak you can hear while driving along?
