Hey guys, well after a long while ive found out why my car stutters on idle, its the Flywheel.

In short, can anyone in the South East area fit a new one and how much would you want for it. I know theres some very guys on here who know a lot about the A3s.

Also, in replacing the flywheel would i need to also change the clutch?

The cars a 2.0 TDi with DSG

    Cheers

    Cheers dude, PM sent.

The problem ive got is a chattering on idle, in P and N. Several garages have said its either the flywheel or chatter plate, and deffinately sounds like Flywheel. This all adds up as the sounds comes from down near the gearbox.

The last few weeks the chatter has got worse, so time to get it sorted.

i think your right about the problem. my 1.3cdti work van sounded just like that and had to get the clutch and flywheel changed it was murder, found myself sitting at the lights reving it up to 15000 just to get the noise to go away. also check the gearbox oil as mine was near dry after driving for weeks till it got to loud and had to do into the garage.

Yeah i have now found a guy who can fit the parts, and also, does anyone know if the clutch should be done too? I know normally yes, but i have also heard that the clutches on the DSG are hard as nails. It doesnt slip or anything so should i keep it?
